Internet Time

If you are running Windows 95 or 98 an option to disconnect from the internet can be activated. To use this option you need to right click on the Internet Explorer Icon and then choose properties. A box that says Internet Explorer Properties should appear, several tabs should be listed at the top of the Internet Explorer Properties Box. It will start with the General tab move across and click on the Connection tab. Along the right hand side of the box you should see four buttons, one of them will be grayed out. Click on the Settings button it will be the second one from the top. The Dial-up Settings box should appear towards the bottom of the Dial-up Settings an option that reads, "Disconnect if idle for." Put a check mark in the box to the left of it and the number of minutes - no more than 30 minutes - you want before disconnecting the internet. Click on the OK button and then the Apply Button and OK again and that should be it. This will not disconnect if you are downloading, browsing or sending e-mail. It will only disconnect your service if there is no activity.
